How to Work with SMEs

This was an independent study project created in the IT 5600 Multimedia Authoring: Web class led by Dave Young. The theme of the project is how to work with SMEs (Subject Matter Experts). The project consisted of building the website template, creating an instructional design plan, creating an online course and assessment, and keeping a project journal. This project helped to further my skills and knowledge about creating effective online training.

This project is an online training course for college or university students or work professionals who are instructional designers (ID). The online training shows the learner techniques or strategies that help improve the working relationship with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). It is often difficult to know what information to gather from a SME when creating the training. When the ID knows how to work with the SME and is able to gather the proper information they are more likely to create effective training for their learners.
